Seed: 1½” rounded brown cones. Seed source is the Black Hills area of South Dakota
Preferred Soil: ph 5-6.5, moist but good adaptability
Attributes: Quickly becoming a very popular tree because of its adaptability and sustained compact growth habit. Makes a quality specimen tree. Should be grown in places where fast growth isn’t essentially required.
